The short version
You can read every price, scheme, forecast and story without an account and without telling us anything. We ask for details only when you want to do something that needs them, we use them only for that, and we never sell them. AgriFolk is run by Abhishek K, an individual, who decides how your data is used (the “data fiduciary” under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
What we store, and why

What we never ask for
- Your bank account or card number, UPI PIN, or any OTP. Payments go through Razorpay, and nobody from AgriFolk will ever ask you for these.
- Your Aadhaar number or any other government identity number.
- A fee to apply for a job, a scheme or a loan.
If a message claiming to be from AgriFolk asks for any of these, it is not us. Stop replying and tell us.
Who can see what
- Public: your listings and posts, with your name and photo, so a buyer or another farmer knows who they are dealing with.
- Never shown: your email and your phone number are not shown on any listing, post or profile.
- Between two people: messages with a buyer or seller, and a call back request with the expert you asked.
- Only you: your chats, farm profile, diary, alerts, saved searches, saved items and plan.
Services that help us
A few services make AgriFolk work. Each sees only what it needs, and none may use it for its own purposes.

We do not sell your details and do not pass them to any data broker.
Advertising and cookies
AgriFolk shows adverts through Google AdSense, which pays for the site to stay free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Our own cookie is only the one that keeps you signed in. If you turn cookies off, the site still works signed out, and ads are simply not personalised.
How long we keep it
- Your account, profile, farm profile and chats stay until you delete them or ask us to.
- A listing is held for 90 days after it ends, in case of a dispute.
- Forum posts stay while the thread does, so the thread still makes sense to the next reader.
- Payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires.
- Daily and monthly usage counts are small numbers that lose their meaning after the day or month they count.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you and who we have shared it with.
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your account and everything attached to it, or a single chat, listing or post.
- Stop using data you gave with consent, such as your farm profile.
- Name someone who can use these rights for you if you cannot.
Write to hello@agrifolk.org from the email on your account and we will act within 30 days. You can also delete chats, alerts and your photo yourself, from the account pages.
Keeping it safe
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Your sign-in is an unguessable code in a cookie that scripts on the page cannot read, and nothing about you is kept in it. Access to the database is limited to what running AgriFolk needs. If we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Children
AgriFolk accounts are for adults. Do not create one if you are under 18. If you tell us an account belongs to a child, we will remove it.
Grievances
Grievance Officer: AgriFolk team, hello@agrifolk.org. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we store or who we share it with, we will update this page and the date at the top, and say so on the site if the change is significant.
