Input cost calculator

Add up what the season costs before it earns anything, for your crop, your district and your acreage.

Every line comes from a published crop economics row with its own source and the day it was checked. Nothing here is modelled, and a crop and district pair with no published row simply does not appear.

Your field

What it costs

  • SeedChecked 2013-12-31₹3,237
  • FertiliserChecked 2013-12-31₹4,047
  • LabourChecked 2013-12-31₹8,094
  • WaterChecked 2013-12-31₹0
  • Everything elseChecked 2013-12-31₹7,284

₹22,662 for 1 acre of Banana in Ahmedabad.

Each line is the published cost for one acre, multiplied by your area. Costs do not scale perfectly with area, so treat a large field as an estimate that leans high on labour and low on everything else.

What the crop could earn is a separate question. The profit and loss page puts both sides together.

Worth knowing

  • These are costs for one acre, multiplied by your area. Labour rarely scales evenly, so a big field usually costs less per acre than this shows.
  • Your own rates will differ. Use this as the starting figure to argue with, not as the answer.
  • Interest on a crop loan is not in here. If you are borrowing, add it yourself.
  • What the crop could earn is on the profit and loss page, which uses the same rows.
